What is a Network?

A chance to explore how a regional or national Transition network could work for your group, and find out what it takes to grow and maintain one.

In this session we will explore the benefits and challenges of working with other community groups and networks to make new connections, spread learning and achieve more together. With Network Weaver Jess Farr, and special guests Katherine Chesson and Maryam Gohari (CAG Oxfordshire) and Anna McIvor from Transition Cambridge and the Resilience Web project.


About our speakers

Katherine Chesson leads the CAG Oxfordshire staff team, overseeing strategy, network facilitation, funding and offering development support to groups in the network. She is particularly interested in exploring and facilitating network activities that center climate justice.

Maryam Gohari is a social and environmental justice activist, designer and Community Network Support Coordinator for community Action Groups Oxfordshire. She enjoys time with animals.

Jess Farr is looking after overall communications and network development the Network Weaving team, and is working with groups and networks right across the central belt of England. She has a background in the arts and charity sector, and loves making connections between people, places and projects.

Anna McIvor is chair of Transition Cambridge and a director of the Resilience Web. She also facilitates The Work that Reconnects (eco-psychological work). Her main focus is on facilitation, coordination, communication, administration, and general support of projects.

This event is open to all, but especially relevant to people and Transition groups based in Wales and England - we’d love to hear your thoughts and perspectives on this topic.
