Waves Community Cafe
How the Waves Community Café works
Two short community “asks” (10 minutes each)
Two members briefly share a project, challenge, or idea where they would welcome input or support.
Small group conversations
Participants move into breakout rooms—simple spaces to meet others, share what’s alive in your work, and connect more informally across the network.
Harvesting collective wisdom
We come back together to share insights, reflections, and ideas that emerged in the small groups so the learning and inspiration can ripple across the community.
Why are we doing this?
While the platform helps us share ideas and updates, this space is about bringing more of the human dimension, more relationality, into the digital world—hearing each other’s voices, stories, seeing each other’s faces, learning with each other, and potentially adding more depth and connection to the posts on the platform.
Many of us are working locally in our communities, sometimes in small teams or even alone. This call is a chance to connect, support one another, and remember we are part of a wider movement.
This idea is inspired by the Re-Imagining Café’s from the Re-Imagining Education Conference, David Betke’s Green Meets, and the Surviving the Future Alumni Calls.
