Deep Colonisation Recovery Circles

Deep Colonisation Recovery circles are one way to support a process of healing. They help us to connect personal, interpersonal and social change and healing. They are spaces to bring together personal and political, inner and outer, where we can explore recovery and healing for ourselves and our wider societies.

Join us for this free online workshop where you can learn how to hold Deep Colonisation Recovery Circles.

The session will introduce the Deep Colonisation Recovery process by practising it. We will unpack this idea of deep colonisation, which we see as a deep wound within each of us, whether our ancestors and culture have been colonised or colonisers.

Although different groups have very different levels of harm and privilege, which needs to be fully understood and processed, we believe this is ultimately a wound we can only fully heal together. If the time feels right for you to engage with this, we will use the process, taking the example of ‘education’ to give you an experience of sharing your own - and listening to others' - thoughts and feelings on how our experience of education has been colonised and what small steps we could take to begin to heal, reclaim and transform that experience.
